Adhocracy Athens: From making things to making the commons.

Ethel Baraona, César Reyes, Pelin Tan

Adhocracy, as opposed to bureaucracy, deals with new ways of doing things based on the process and the quick—but good—answers to certain needs, rather than with traditional systems. Going beyond the notion of Do It Yourself and the Tactical Urbanism trend, Adhocracy underlines the achievements of manufacturers (makers) guided by the will of changing the system, by changing the way they do things. The exhibition includes examples of manufacturers whose work promotes the design of open source and it places special emphasis on the idea of common goods in relation to production. More info
